Which tool to use
The job offer comparison puts up to three offers side by side. It adds base salary, expected bonus, equity vesting and the employer 401(k) match, subtracts the health premiums you pay, and divides the total by the hours you actually give the job, including commute time. The relocation cost comparison uses two cost-of-living index numbers that you enter to find the salary that keeps the same purchasing power after a move, and shows what an offer in the new place is worth in today’s dollars.
Both tools work with pre-tax pay. To compare what actually lands in your account, run each salary through the take-home pay estimator as well.
About these tools
Every tool here runs entirely in your browser: the numbers you enter are not sent to a server. Each page explains its formula so you can check the result against your own assumptions.
Results are estimates for general information, not financial advice. Offers contain details these tools cannot see, so read the full terms before deciding.
