Take-Home Pay Estimator

Estimate your US net pay per year, month and paycheck from salary, filing status and state using 2026 federal brackets.

What the estimator covers

The take-home pay estimator uses tax year 2026 federal brackets and the standard deduction ($16,100 single, $32,200 married filing jointly, $24,150 head of household). It adds Social Security at 6.2% up to the $184,500 wage base and Medicare at 1.45%, plus 0.9% on wages above $200,000 ($250,000 married filing jointly). State income tax is a single approximate rate for each state, and nine states are shown with no wage income tax. Pre-tax 401(k) contributions lower income tax only, while pre-tax health premiums lower both income tax and FICA. The result is shown per year, per month and per paycheck.

The estimator is built for employees with wage income only. Self-employed people pay both halves of FICA and should not rely on it.

About these estimators

Calculations happen in your browser and nothing you type is uploaded. The estimators use stated tax-year figures and simplified assumptions, which each page spells out.

Tax rules change and individual situations differ. Treat results as estimates and confirm with official sources or a qualified tax professional.
